Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD (completed in the past three years) in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science with a bioinformatics focus, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with genomics, transcriptomics, and metagenomics data analysis using pipelines.
- Solid knowledge in molecular biology.
- Solid programming and scripting background (R, Python, Bash) for data analysis and software development.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning application on omics data analysis.
- Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
Desirable experience and skills:
- Knowledge and/or previous work in immunology/infectious diseases.
- Previous experience with handling and analyzing disease data.
- Experience in web-based application development using R, Shiny, Bioconductor.
Job Description: The successful candidate will work on Multi-omics data analysis and Machine learning projects under Dr. Mohamed Helmy’s supervision. Responsibilities include genome sequence assembly and analysis, RNA-Seq data analysis, developing machine learning algorithms, and contributing to tool and database development. The position is a 2-year term with the possibility of extension, and the successful applicant will receive a competitive salary based on experience.
