Summary
The NeuroAI Lab at UCSF, led by Assistant Professor Pedro Pinheiro-Chagas, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to develop next-generation clinical agentic AI systems for neurodegenerative disease diagnosis and care. Eligibility/Qualification
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, focusing heavily on deep learning and generative AI using Python.
- Experience with agentic AI architectures, workflow orchestration, and human-AI interaction design.
- Proven record of working with neurodegenerative disease datasets.
- Established track record of peer-reviewed publications and exceptional scientific writing skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in multidisciplinary and fast-paced translational environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of data security, privacy, and clinical regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA compliance) for clinical software.
- Experience handling multimodal clinical data, such as blood biomarkers, genetics, imaging, or other molecular modalities.
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Spearhead the development, evaluation, and optimization of clinical agentic AI workflows.
- Elaborate dynamic prompt engineering and implement benchmarking protocols using real and simulated clinical data.
- Improve accuracy and interpretability of the AI models.
- Automate multimodal data processing.
- Ensure full compliance with data security and regulatory standards, particularly HIPAA.
- Collaborate closely with world-class specialists in neurology, neuropsychology, and radiology.
