Job Description:
The postdoctoral fellow will:
- Develop and implement machine learning and deep learning models to analyze high-throughput functional genomics data (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq).
- Investigate sequence-function relationships in cis-regulatory regions to identify sequence motifs and regulatory elements involved in gene expression.
- Enhance model interpretability techniques to gain mechanistic insights into regulatory processes.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists to validate computational predictions and integrate multi-omic data.
- Contribute to the development of computational tools and resources for the broader research community.
- Communicate findings through publications, presentations, and collaborations.
Eligibility/Qualifications:
- PhD (or near completion) in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong publication record with at least one first-author research paper or preprint in quantitative biology or machine learning.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX is a plus.
- Knowledge of language models, explainable AI, robust ML, causal inference, fairness, active and lifelong learning is advantageous but not required.
- Experience in both machine learning and genomics is desirable, but expertise in one field and enthusiasm to learn the other will be considered.
