Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in anaerobic microbial sciences, microbial electrochemistry, or related bioengineering disciplines.
- Expertise in anaerobic metabolism, electromicrobiology, and electrochemical reactor design and operation is preferred.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will conduct research on:
- Microbial fitness, physiology, and metabolism in advanced microbial electrosynthesis reactors.
- Performance analysis of diverse methanogenic and acetogenic microorganisms.
The postdoc will collaborate with Drs. Alfred Spormann and Lars Angenent to develop and test upscaled microbial electrosynthesis reactors utilizing advanced electrochemistry and reactor design strategies.
