Research Area

You will join the Cell Line Screening & Development unit within the Biologics Research Center (BRC). The project focuses on advancing a next-generation CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary) platform by evaluating transposon-based gene integration systems to support an end-to-end production platform.

Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will:

  • Design and execute high-throughput molecular cloning of plasmids and libraries.
  • Establish and optimize workflows for stable gene integration and the generation of engineered CHO cell pools.
  • Characterize engineered cell pools using state-of-the-art genetic and analytical methods.
  • Develop AI/ML-ready datasets to assist in identifying multi-specific antibody producers.
  • Collaborate across functions (Biologics Research, Technical R&D, Data Science) to contribute to clinical and commercial supply pipelines.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Degree: PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline, conferred in 2026 only.
  • Expertise: Hands-on experience with mammalian suspension cell culture (transfection, selection, expansion) and molecular biology techniques (plasmid design, DNA/RNA analysis).
  • Data Skills: Experience generating AI-ready datasets (structured metadata).
  • Soft Skills: Strong teamwork, communication, and a record of scientific achievement (publications, patents).
  • Desirable: Experience with CHO cell line development or programming (R/Python) for large omics datasets.
  • Requirement: Must be eligible to work in Switzerland.
