Postdoctoral Fellow in High-Throughput Biophysics: The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Stockholm University is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in High-Throughput Biophysics to join the research lab of Emil Marklund at SciLifeLab campus in Solna, Stockholm. The successful candidate will work on projects investigating molecular binding, recognition, and dynamical structure in biological macromolecules.
Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow in High-Throughput Biophysics
Research Area: The research focuses on understanding sequence information’s role in governing biological processes such as molecular recognition, binding, and structural dynamics, with applications in DNA, RNA, and protein interactions.
Location: Stockholm University, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification Requirements:
- Hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent international qualification.
- Degree completed no more than three years before the closing date of November 15, 2024.
- Background in biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry, optical engineering, or deep learning.
- Demonstrated ability in method development or tackling complex scientific problems.
- Strong publication record showcasing scientific ability and maturity.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Curiosity, drive for basic research, and a collaborative spirit.
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will:
- Design molecular sequence variants for high-throughput binding studies.
- Develop and optimize optical engineering and fluorescence microscopy techniques for data acquisition and analysis.
- Construct predictive deep learning models and mechanistic models using binding data.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members on project design and implementation.
- Contribute to the lab’s overarching research goals.
