Postdoctoral Fellow in Melanoma Research: Join the research group led by Hildur Helgadottir at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in translational melanoma research. You will play a pivotal role in investigating biomarkers associated with extracellular vesicles (EVs) to predict therapy efficacy in melanoma patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors, contributing to the ongoing PROMMEL study. This is a full-time, temporary position for 2 years with the possibility of extension.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Translational Melanoma Research

Research Area: Melanoma Biology, Translational Research

Location: BioClinicum, Karolinska Hospital, Solna, Stockholm county, Sweden

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed doctoral degree in a relevant field
  • Extensive knowledge of tumor biology, preferably with expertise in tumor biomarkers in liquid biopsies, including EV-associated biomarkers
  • Ability to independently acquire knowledge and develop ongoing projects
  • Strong communication skills in English or Swedish

Job Description:

  • Design and execute a project focused on identifying biomarkers associated with EVs to predict therapy efficacy in melanoma patients
  • Conduct proteomic profiling of EVs and plasma samples from melanoma patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors
  • Analyze data and relate findings to clinical outcomes after treatment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary research group members on ongoing projects
  • Present scientific work at seminars and contribute to the preparation of research publications
  • Assist in the training of other group members, including PhD students
