Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Chemistry or a relevant field.
  • Advanced understanding of surfactant self-assembly and phase equilibria.
  • Experience in neutron and X-ray small-angle scattering experiments.
  • Familiarity with other characterization techniques (optical microscopy, NMR, thermal analysis, spectroscopy) is advantageous.
  • Experience with amphiphilic systems out of equilibrium, such as under shear flow, is preferred.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct research into surfactant self-assembly structures in ionic liquids.
  • Collaborate with Professor Gregory Warr and the research team, including collaborators at the University of Western Australia and facility scientists.
  • Produce significant progress in experimental research under shear conditions.
  • Jointly supervise junior research group members.
  • Prepare drafts for publication and present findings through various formats.
