Research Area: Viral Immunology and Educational Outreach

Location: Trudeau Institute, Saranac Lake, NY, amidst the scenic Adirondack Mountains. On-campus housing by a recreational lake is available.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in immunology or a related field with proven independence, productivity, and a dedication to mentoring future scientists.
  • Strong publication record, proficient communication skills, and deep knowledge of the scientific literature.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about education, with experience in teaching and outreach preferred.
  • Skilled in mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and pre-clinical animal models (desired but not mandatory).

Job Description:
The selected candidate will conduct advanced research in immunology, specifically focusing on vaccines for respiratory infections. Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing immunological techniques, including flow cytometry, preclinical vaccine models, and molecular biology, to achieve project objectives.
  • Creating and implementing educational curricula, outreach programs, and assessment tools for diverse audiences.
  • Partnering with faculty, students, and community organizations to foster research and promote science education.
  • Presenting research findings at conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Mentoring undergraduate students and guiding them in research and educational initiatives.
  • Applying for grant funding based on experience, such as fellowship and training grants.
