Postdoctoral Fellow on Physics-Informed Neural Networks : The Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position to work on Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). Eligibility / Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proven research background in AI/ML, especially in Deep Learning and PINNs.
  • Strong programming skills (Python, TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, or JAX).
  • Background in applied mathematics or computational engineering.
  • Experience in SHM, RUL prediction, AI-based control, or modeling with physics integration is desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in international, interdisciplinary environments.

Job Description:

  • Conduct advanced research in AI/ML focused on engineering applications.
  • Develop and enhance theory and application of PINNs.
  • Create novel surrogate models for complex physical systems.
  • Apply developed methods to structural health monitoring challenges.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects with societal impact, especially in offshore renewable energy.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Gross annual salary: €30,744 – €37,331 (commensurate with experience)
  • Moving allowance: up to €2,000
  • Additional family support:
    • €2,000 gross for family relocation (with proof)
    • €1,200 gross/year per child (up to 2 children, with proof)
  • Free access to Spain’s Public Health System
