Designation/Position- Postdoctoral Fellow Position at EMBL

EMBL invites application for Postdoctoral Fellow Position at EMBL Synthetic Biology Design and Evolution for eligible and interested candidates

The Steinmetz group is looking for an ambitious computational postdoctoral fellow who will combine innovative approaches in synthetic biology, laboratory evolution, and genomics to measure the functional and molecular consequences of abrupt changes in genome organization. The Steinmetz lab’s evolutionary synthetic biology team uses the world’s first fully-synthetic eukaryote, Saccharomyces cerevisiae 2.0, and an on-demand genome-wide recombination system engineered into its genome (SCRaMbLE) to discover principles of genome design within an evolutionary context. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for processing and analyzing data generated from high-throughput genomics and experimental evolution experiments. S/he will join a highly collaborative, diverse, and international team. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, creative, and well-positioned to lead scientific projects at all stages, from experimental design to manuscript preparation. Also, this person will be both independent and enthusiastic about working collaboratively within a team. With a senior experimental postdoctoral fellow, s/he will lead all aspects of a multidisciplinary project that will require a broad background and desire to learn new skills quickly.
