Job Description / Duties
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Nora Cespedes and Dr. Tanya Miura and will be responsible for:
- Conducting research associated with the funded malaria and dengue projects.
- Investigating the role of mast cells in malaria parasite growth, maturation, and transmission.
- Studying immune responses following malaria and subsequent dengue virus infection.
- Assisting with laboratory management and organization.
- Preparing scientific manuscripts for publication.
- Developing scientific presentations.
- Contributing to grant proposal preparation.
- Collaborating with the two principal investigators, U of I students, and project collaborators at Uniformed Services University.
