Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Experience in gas-phase experiments and laser spectroscopy.
- Familiarity with high-vacuum technology and molecular beam setups.
- Experience in (infrared) laser spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and quantum chemical calculations is advantageous.
- Good communication skills in English and ability to work in a diverse, international team.
Job Description
The postdoc will:
- Coordinate daily activities in gas phase cluster laboratories.
- Support Master’s and PhD students.
- Develop independent research activities focused on:
- Interaction of hydrogen with carbon-metal clusters.
- Carbon dioxide reduction using fullerene-transition metal hybrids as catalysts.
- Systematic investigation of cluster magnetism influenced by doping with Co and Fe.
Experimental work involves:
- Studying clusters using mass spectrometry and in-beam reactivity studies.
- Conducting infrared and visible light spectroscopy with tunable lasers.
- Performing experiments at the FELIX free electron laser facility in The Netherlands.
