Eligibility/Qualification:
- Essential Criteria:
- PhD in Organic Chemistry or a related field (or pending results).
- Extensive experience in multi-step synthetic chemistry.
- Experience in Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis.
- Proficiency in separation and characterization of small to medium-sized molecules.
- Familiarity with key spectroscopic techniques.
- Strong publication record in reputable journals.
- Excellent communication skills for clear scientific writing and presentation.
- Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in asymmetric synthesis and determining enantiomeric excess.
- Application of density functional theory (DFT).
- Evidence of independent funding.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will join the Cobb group, working on designing modular asymmetric catalysts inspired by natural helices. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing the synthesis of novel foldamer catalysts.
- Contributing to stereoselective processes involving organocatalytic and photocatalytic reactions.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary research team and utilizing state-of-the-art instrumentation.
- Supporting high-quality research projects and contributing to publications.
