Postdoctoral Position in Biomolecular Simulations: PhyLife, the Physical Life Science Center at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense, invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in the field of biomolecular simulations of membranes and membrane proteins. This position offers an opportunity to work in collaboration with theorists and experimental scientists in a dynamic research environment. The project will focus on molecular simulations, with a particular emphasis on transmembrane proteins involved in ion transport. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to shape the project and will have access to cutting-edge supercomputing resources in Denmark and Europe.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical mechanics.
  • Proficiency in English with good communication skills.
  • Experience with all-atom or coarse-grained molecular simulations.
  • Comfortable with programming and the Linux programming environment.
  • Background in Physics, Physical Chemistry, or Engineering is desirable.
  • Prior experience in empirical methods like docking or structural bioinformatics is not encouraged.

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Position in Biomolecular Simulations of Membranes and Membrane Proteins

The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for:

  • Implementing molecular simulations and developing novel simulation techniques for transmembrane proteins, especially those related to ion transport.
  • Collaborating closely with a team of theorists and experimental scientists.
  • Adapting and shaping the research project.
  • Utilizing state-of-the-art supercomputing resources for simulations.
  • Engaging in research activities within the scope of biomolecular simulations.
