Postdoctoral position in Cellular Microbiology: A 24-month postdoctoral fellowship is available at the Infectiology Research Institute of Montpellier (IRIM) in the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Bacterial Infections. The fellowship is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and will focus on the manipulation of cytosolic sensors by the stealth bacterial pathogen Coxiella burnetii.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- A completed PhD (2018 and after) or PhD completed by September 30, 2023 (with confirmed timeline for defence)
- Strong background in cellular microbiology and immunology
Job Description:
- The candidate will characterise newly identified effector proteins and determine how Coxiella manipulates host NLRS to evade the innate immune response.
- The candidate will carry out experiments in cellular imaging and molecular biology.
- The candidate will co-supervise a PhD student on this research.
