Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD degree in Computational Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field with excellent grades.
- Background in nonlinear solid mechanics, computational methods, materials science, and/or electromagnetism.
- Strong programming skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL-iBT score of 90).
Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will work on a project aimed at developing and enhancing physics-based models to estimate the electromagnetic response of steel’s polycrystalline microstructure. The research will involve:
- Extending prior research to include the effects of dislocation density, phase distribution, and residual stresses on magnetic responses detectable by sensors.
- Collaborating closely with industrial partners and reporting research findings in bi-weekly group meetings.
- Presenting results at international scientific conferences and publishing in academic journals.
- Mentoring MSc students associated with the project.
