Postdoctoral Position in Microbiology: The Department of Biology, Section of Microbiology, at the University of Copenhagen, invites applications for a Postdoctoral position focused on the fundamental study of phage-bacterial interactions, aimed at combating antibiotic resistance. This position is financed by the Carlsberg Foundation.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Essential:
  • PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Solid knowledge of molecular microbiology, bacterial stress response, and phage biology.
  • Strong wet-lab experience (molecular cloning, microbial culturing).
  • Interest in phage biology and antimicrobial resistance.
  • Preferred:
  • Evidence of scientific writing (thesis/publications).
  • Experience with omics data analysis (especially RNA-seq).
  • Skills in bioinformatics tools (R/Python).

Job Description

The selected candidate will engage in:

  • Independent research projects under supervision.
  • Molecular, physiological, and systematic studies of E. coli-phage interaction mechanisms.
  • Dissemination of findings through teaching and scientific papers aimed at high-impact journals.
  • Participation in academic exchanges, potentially in China, Switzerland, or Germany.
