Postdoctoral Position: Liquid Reactors: Join the 3DPV group at NWO-Institute AMOLF in a Postdoctoral role focusing on operando characterization within a cutting-edge plasmonic-based photo-reactor. This position is part of the European ReaCtor consortium, dedicated to developing an innovative micro reactor for sustainable flow chemistry.
Postdoctoral Position: Optical Methods for Operando Investigation in Liquid Reactors
Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area:
Operando characterisation inside a plasmonic-based photo-reactor
Location:
NWO-Institute AMOLF, Amsterdam Science Park, The Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Prior experience in photochemistry, operando spectroscopy, and/or plasmonics is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
Job Description:
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a novel micro-reactor by investigating the impact of plasmonic metal nanoparticles on enhancing photocatalysis within optical fiber reactors. The role involves utilizing various operando techniques to monitor chemical reactions in space and time, including scanning probe and spectroscopic methods (such as fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy). The main objective is to study reaction kinetics from single particles to ensembles and determine the optimal plasmonic particle density within the reactor. Collaboration with consortium partners and active participation in symposia, workshops, and mutual visits are integral parts of this position.
