Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow– The University of Exeter, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, is offering a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow position immediately available until 31/10/2026 on a fixed-term basis. This position is for marine zooplankton physiology, ecology, and biogeochemistry research as part of the IDAPro project (‘Integrating Drivers of Atlantic Productivity’). The project aims to enhance understanding of marine primary production drivers to reduce uncertainties in projections of ocean productivity changes.

Job Description
Responsibilities include planning and conducting sea-based observations and experiments to quantify zooplankton grazing and nutrient recycling. State-of-the-art techniques will be used to generate data for understanding zooplankton physiology’s impact on nutrient stoichiometry and ocean productivity. The successful candidate is expected to participate in two research expeditions to the Iceland Basin, North Atlantic, in 2024 and be responsible for data generation, interpretation, and publication.
The post involves close collaboration with other plankton ecologists, trace metal biogeochemists, and ecosystem modellers. It’s a NERC-funded position available until 31/10/2026.
