The initial contract duration is 2-3 years, depending on the project, with the possibility of extension. Ideal candidates should hold a PhD in NLP, Machine Learning, computer science, or a related discipline, and be fluent in English.

Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing a research program aligned with the UKP Lab’s agenda, with a focus on top CL/NLP venues.
- Working on ongoing projects such as conversational human-AI collaboration, cross-document relations in long documents, multimodal fact-checking & QA, NLP for mental health, and privacy-aware NLP.
- Participating in academic service, including co-advising Master and PhD students and co-teaching NLP courses.
Ecosystem: The UKP Lab is part of ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems), ELIZA (Konrad Zuse School of Excellence in Learning and Intelligent Systems), and Hessian.AI. These affiliations provide a rich environment for networking with other NLP and AI researchers and collaborative opportunities.
Team: The UKP Lab is internationally recognized for its research in NLP, including language representation learning, argument mining, question answering, and conversational AI. The team consists of about 40 full-time researchers, offering an interdisciplinary and international environment.
