Eligibility / Qualification

Required:

  • Ph.D. in cognitive science, machine learning, computer science, or a related computational field
  • Strong cognitive modeling abilities
  • Solid programming skills
  • Experience in project management

Preferred:

  • Background in empirical research, ML, computational modeling, cognitive science, or psychiatry
  • Experience supervising or mentoring students
  • Evidence of independence and self-motivation

Job Description

The postdoctoral researcher will:

  • Conduct advanced research in human and machine learning
  • Collaborate with Dr. Eric Schulz, Ph.D. students, and external partner labs
  • Develop computational and cognitive models
  • Run cognitive experiments and contribute to ML-driven research
  • Use the Helmholtz ecosystem’s high-performance compute clusters for data-intensive work
  • Engage in an interdisciplinary team of cognitive scientists, neuroscientists, and computer scientists
  • Participate in lab activities, meetings, retreats, and joint collaborations
