Postdoctoral Researcher: Best4Grid: The University of Vaasa is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Best4Grid project, focusing on vehicle battery storage for green transport and grid stability in the Nordics. This fixed-term position starts in October 2024 and ends in December 2026.
Postdoctoral Researcher, Best4Grid (Electrical Engineering)

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Doctoral degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering
- Ability to conduct high-level scientific research independently
- Excellent analytical, academic writing, and communication skills
- Proven track record in empirical research and research collaboration
- Active participation in international scientific research networks is favorable
- Fluent written and spoken English; Nordic language skills are advantageous
Job Description:
- Conduct research activities within the Best4Grid project at the University of Vaasa
- Design and develop electricity market models
- Study the impact of regulatory changes on various electricity market players
- Analyze energy communities’ regulation, market structures, and peer-to-peer trading
- Prepare research proposals for national and international calls
- Publish research results as part of the research team
- Manage administrative tasks related to the project
- Collaborate with the University’s multidisciplinary research platforms: Digital Economy, InnoLab, and Vebic
Additional tasks may be agreed upon separately. The annual working time is 1612 hours as per the university’s collective agreement. Task details will be included in the Annual Work Plan.
