Postdoctoral Researcher / Cancer Data Science: A 2.5-year postdoctoral position is available in the Cancer Data Science group at the University of Helsinki, focusing on gene regulatory network modeling and pan-cancer data analysis.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, cancer genomics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Bash.
- Documented research experience with large-scale omics data analysis.
- Experience with high-performance computing is an advantage.
- Knowledge of multi-modal data integration, gene regulation, cancer biology, and/or network biology is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and maintain computational tools.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
Job Description:
The role involves the development of computational methods to model gene regulatory networks using bulk cancer data, integrating large datasets to uncover regulatory mechanisms driving cancer progression and heterogeneity. Responsibilities include extending network modeling approaches, investigating cancer type-specific and pan-cancer rewiring of gene regulatory networks, and leveraging extensive datasets from iCAN and publicly available resources.
