Job Description
The successful candidate will join the ACAI research initiative aimed at advancing autotelic (intrinsically motivated and self-goal-directed) artificial intelligence systems capable of creative problem-solving, open-ended discovery, and innovative generation. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting high-quality, independent and collaborative research in autotelic and creative AI.
- Publishing scientific findings in leading AI and machine learning conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI) and reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participating in co-supervision of Master’s and PhD students.
- Collaborating with local and international academic partners and participating in academic community events.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A completed PhD degree (or near completion before the start date) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cognitive Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, intrinsic motivation/open-endedness, or computational creativity.
- Programming: Proficient in Python and modern deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow).
- Track Record: Proven publication record in top-tier machine learning or AI venues.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
