Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in cell biology, biophysics, or biochemistry (candidates who have submitted their PhD/DPhil thesis will be considered, with salary adjustment upon completion).
  • Experience in advanced quantitative microscopy analysis.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated laboratory experience.
  • Experience in formulating research questions and devising strategies to address them.
  • A strong background in imaging quantitative biology, biophysics, or in vitro reconstitution is highly desirable.

Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will lead a project focused on the quantitative cell biology of cell interfaces. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing novel tools to visualize biomolecules (lipids, glycans, proteins) in cells to observe the dynamic formation of cell interfaces in epithelia.
  • Generating and analyzing complex data from super-resolution fluorescence and CryoET.
  • Developing and supporting novel workflows of bioimaging analysis for advanced imaging data (STED, FLIM, FRET, FCS).
  • Planning and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, and supervising delivery of outputs (e.g., research reports, patent applications).
  • Working within a project team, contributing to wider projects around key Franklin’s Challenges.
  • Leading major contributions to research outputs including papers, patents, and presentations.
  • Supporting and developing others, including day-to-day supervision of students or visitors.
  • Building scientific independence and establishing an external reputation.
  • Collaborating with other researchers and actively contributing to the exchange of ideas.
  • Contributing to research grant writing.
