Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • PhD (completed or near completion) in Neurobiology, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields
  • Fulfillment of NCN eligibility criteria (paragraph 2, point 2.1.1):

  • Strong expertise in:
    • Neuroscience and cell biology
    • Neuronal culture techniques
    • Complex data analysis
    • Rodent-based research
  • Experience in drug-screen design is an advantage
  • Solid publication record and ability to work independently
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Strong motivation, curiosity about brain homeostasis and aging
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international research environment

Job Description

The postdoctoral researcher will:

  • Plan and perform experiments using in vitro and in vivo models
  • Investigate molecular mechanisms underlying inflammation-induced dendritic destabilization
  • Analyze complex datasets and interpret experimental results
  • Participate actively in manuscript preparation and dissemination of results
  • Support the PI in mentoring and supervising PhD students
  • Contribute to identifying potential therapeutic compounds protecting neuronal structure
