Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemistry: Aalto University, located in Espoo, Greater Helsinki, Finland, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the School of Chemical Engineering. This position focuses on lignocellulose chemistry and offers an opportunity to contribute to research on wood hemicelluloses and lignins. The goal is to study the polymeric properties of these materials and their applications in biomass processing and materials design. The selected candidate will work in the research group led by Prof. Tiina Nypelö within the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Recently obtained Ph.D. or doctoral degree in chemistry, polymer chemistry or technology, forest products, or similar field
- Proficiency in written and oral communication skills in English
- Interest and experience in laboratory work, experiments, measurements, and data analysis
- Good understanding of polymer analysis in solutions using light scattering (preferred)
Job Description: The selected Postdoctoral Researcher will:
- Conduct research on the polymeric properties of wood hemicelluloses and lignins
- Investigate solubility, miscibility, and quantification of these materials
- Translate research findings into resolving challenges in biomass processing and materials design
- Become an expert in polymers in solution or deepen existing skills in that area
- Work within the research group led by Prof. Tiina Nypelö
- Collaborate with the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems and contribute to the FinnCERES flagship program
- Carry out experiments, measurements, and data analysis in the laboratory
- Present research findings at conferences and publish results in scientific journals
