Postdoctoral Researcher in Color Evolution: The Koski Plant Evolutionary Ecology Lab is seeking a motivated postdoctoral scholar to join our team to explore floral color evolution in Southeastern annual plants. This position offers the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research combining experimental evolution, fieldwork, and advanced genomic techniques.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Evolutionary Biology, Ecology, Plant Biology, or a closely related field.
  • Strong skills in statistics, scientific writing, experimental design, and research mentorship.
  • Desired (but not required) expertise in selection analyses, statistics in R, bioinformatics (focus on population genomics), and plant biochemistry.

Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will:

  • Conduct research on the roles of pollinator shifts, abiotic factors, and sensory drive in shaping flower color diversity among plant populations.
  • Lead a multi-generation experimental evolution study, alongside growth chamber and field experiments.
  • Have opportunities to study population genomics, metabolomics, and engage in community science projects.
  • Be responsible for data collection and analysis, mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers, and manuscript preparation.
  • Conduct research in greenhouses, growth chambers, and natural field settings.
