Postdoctoral Researcher in Enzyme Engineering: The research group of Prof. Martin Weissenborn at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is seeking a motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge enzyme engineering research, focusing on directed evolution and optimization of enzyme expression. The role also involves supervising PhD students and undergraduates, project management, and publishing scientific results.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A completed scientific university degree (Diploma or Master’s) in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, pharmacy, or a related field.
  • A Doctorate in one of the above disciplines.
  • Experience in writing and publishing in prestigious scientific journals.
  • Desirable: Experience in yeast expression systems and supervision of students.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken German and English.
  • Strong communication skills, high motivation, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Description:

  • Engineering enzymes through directed evolution techniques.
  • Optimization of endo-levanase expression.
  • Management of project deliverables, including the preparation of project reports.
  • Supervision and mentorship of PhD students and undergraduates.
  • Writing scientific publications and contributing to the dissemination of research findings.
