Research Area
Gas sensing with a focus on applying ultrabroadband mid-infrared spectroscopy for multispecies detection in various fields, including environmental monitoring, chemical exposure assessment, and the green hydrogen industry.
Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD degree in Physics (Photonics), Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Good foundation in optics, laser spectroscopy, and signal-processing techniques.
- Experience with lasers, spectroscopy, and programming (Matlab, LabView/Python).
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Strong motivation, creativity, and team-oriented collaborative spirit.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Designing and developing a field-deployable spectrometer.
- Guiding one or two PhD candidates.
- Coordinating research with other Dutch partners in the project.
- Contributing to the dissemination of results.
- Exploring and enhancing the potential of coherent open-path spectroscopy (COPS) for gas measurements in real-life applications.
