Eligibility/Qualification:

Essential:

  • PhD in Biology or a related discipline (completed before start date)

Preferred Experience:

  • PhD thesis focused on seed ecology and/or evolution
  • Authorship in relevant publications and involvement in seed ecology/evolution projects
  • Proficiency in R programming and statistical data analysis
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)

Job Description:

The postdoctoral researcher will:

  • Lead and coordinate the expansion of the SeedArc global seed germination database, particularly into underrepresented global regions
  • Conduct research on the comparative ecology and evolution of the seed germination niche
  • Collaborate closely with lab members and contribute to the lab’s active projects in plant ecology and biodiversity
  • Be mentored and supervised by Dr. Eduardo Fernández Pascual and Dr. Borja Jiménez-Alfaro
