Research Area:

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related subject.
- Experience in plant molecular biology, particularly with Arabidopsis thaliana and crops as model organisms.
- Proficiency in CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, cloning, transformation of different plant species, and confocal microscopy.
- Strong oral and written proficiency in English.
- A track record of publishing manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
- Teaching and supervision experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Job Description:
The selected researcher will be responsible for:
- Conducting research to understand how plants respond to mechanical stimuli and environmental stressors.
- Evaluating the potential for controlled mechanical stimulation to enhance yield and stress resistance in cereals.
- Collaborating with the business community on applied research projects.
- Applying for external funding to support research initiatives.
- Participating in teaching at various educational levels, with opportunities for pedagogical training and supervision of thesis and doctoral students.
- Managing administrative tasks related to the aforementioned responsibilities.
