Postdoctoral Researcher in Polymer Chemistry: Aalto University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Polymer Chemistry to join our dynamic teams focusing on the development of polymer-supported radicals and liquid-crystalline elastomers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in polymer chemistry and a passion for interdisciplinary research aimed at addressing major global challenges in energy storage and building materials.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A doctoral degree in Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Technology, Soft Materials Science, or a related field.
  • A good publication record demonstrating research expertise.
  • Strong understanding of soft matter and macromolecular design.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research projects is highly valued.
  • Prior experience in teaching and supervision of MSc and PhD level researchers is an advantage.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written).

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Engage in high-profile, interdisciplinary research projects, contributing to the development of active electrode materials for organic radical ion batteries.
  • Participate in the tuning of phase-transition temperatures of liquid-crystalline elastomers for energy-saving buildings.
  • Collaborate effectively between the Multifunctional Materials Design and Polymer Synthesis Technology groups.
  • Contribute to teaching and supervision of graduate students.
  • Disseminate scientific results through publications and presentations.
