Eligibility/Qualification:
- A doctoral degree in population genetics, bioinformatics, archaeogenetics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in working with computer-based analysis methods and large databases.
- Demonstrated research independence and high-quality publications.
- Excellent oral and written English skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Previous studies or experience in population genetics and/or archaeogenetics focusing on Africa, Oceania, and Eurasia are desirable.
- Familiarity with database curation, model testing, simulation-based studies, and spatial genetic analyses will be highly regarded.
- Background in mathematics, computational methods, and statistical training is advantageous.
- Experience in contributing to open science initiatives is desirable.
- Exposure to international and interdisciplinary research contexts is advantageous.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Researcher will:
- Develop theory and methods for utilizing aggregated data from genetics, archaeology, and linguistics.
- Design and conduct innovative interdisciplinary research projects on human history.
- Explore questions of genetic, cultural, and language evolution, particularly focusing on Africa, Oceania, and Eurasia.
- Collaborate with researchers within the Human Evolution Program and the Center for the Human Past.
- Contribute to teaching and supervision activities, up to 20% of full time.
