Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Technologies: ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position within the Quantum Photonics with Solids and Atoms group, led by Prof. Dr. Hugues de Riedmatten. This role focuses on the development of quantum repeaters using solid-state quantum memories and entanglement sources, in the framework of advancing quantum communication networks. The project is part of a national initiative in quantum communications and is funded by the European Union and the Government of Catalonia.

🎓 Eligibility / Qualification:

  • Ph.D. (or evidence of imminent completion) in Experimental Quantum Physics or a closely related field.
  • Strong publication record in high-impact research journals.
  • Hands-on experience in quantum optics, quantum light sources, and entanglement characterization.
  • Background in quantum memories or light-matter interaction is highly desirable.

📝 Job Description:
The selected candidate will:

  • Work within the Quantum Photonics with Solids and Atoms group at ICFO.
  • Develop quantum repeater links using solid-state memories and entangled photon sources.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of postdocs and PhD students.
  • Participate in national collaborations under the Complementary Plan of Quantum Communications.
  • Contribute to the group’s scientific goals through experimental research, data analysis, and publications.
