Structural Biology & Natural Product BiosynthesisPharmacenter, Basel, Switzerland– Doctoral degree in structural biology, pharmaceutical biology, (bio)chemistry, or microbiology.
– Required experience in structural biology/X-ray crystallography and natural product research.
– Knowledge in enzymology, protein design, molecular biology, microbial metabolism, natural product analysis (LCMS, NMR, etc.), and/or bioinformatics is advantageous.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Researcher will work under Prof. Robin Teufel, focusing on:

  • Elucidating natural product biosynthetic pathways and enzymology.
  • Exploring the mechanistic and structural aspects of bacterial aromatic polyketide biosynthesis.
  • Engineering enzymes in collaboration with project partners to produce natural product derivatives for evaluation of bioactivities, including antibiotic and anticancer properties.
  • Assisting PhD students with the structural elucidation of proteins.
