The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is a world-leading internationally oriented research center, committed to discovering new approaches to prevent and treat neurodegenerative diseases. The research area Systems Medicine (DZNE Bonn site) is recruiting for a full-time postdoctoral position to work on the international consortium NEUROCOV with the goal to better characterize the pathophysiology of Long-COVID and its neurological symptoms, to develop biomarkers for patient stratification, and contribute to the development of new therapies against this devastating disease.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in biology, life sciences, molecular biomedicine, biotechnology, computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or similar topic
  • Expertise in handling human biopsy material
  • Basic knowledge in biology and/or immunology is of advantage
  • Experience in translational research, data or project management
  • Experience in bioinformatics, computational modeling, or machine learning is of advantage
  • Very good English and German proficiency
  • Enthusiastic and collaborative work attitude
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/x) in Systems Medicine Code: 1168/2023/1

The successful candidate will be responsible for linking and analyzing clinical data with omics and immunological data to better characterize the pathophysiology of Long-COVID. This will also include management and integration of clinical and experimental data. The successful candidate will work closely together with the Director of the PRECISE platform for Single Cell Genomics in Systems Medicine and the Clinical Research Platform.
