Eligibility & Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- Degree: Doctoral degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Tissue Engineering, Immunoengineering, Microsystem/Applied Biotechnologies, or a closely related field.
- Note: The PhD must be awarded by the time of the employment decision. Priority is given to candidates who obtained their PhD within 3 years prior to the application deadline.
- Technical Experience: Documented experience in developing microphysiological systems or biosensor fabrication.
- Language & Communication: Excellent written and oral English communication skills, alongside strong scientific writing abilities.
Desirable / Advantageous Qualifications:
- CAD design and cleanroom microfabrication skills.
- Experience in hydrogel formulation, chemical crosslinking, and biomechanical sensing.
- Proficiency in biological sample staining and advanced light microscopy techniques.
- Experience in culturing and characterizing mammalian cells (particularly cancer or immune cells).
- Proven track record of first/corresponding author publications in high-quality journals and presentations at international scientific conferences.
Job Description
As a Postdoctoral Researcher in this project, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Platform Fabrication & Optimization: Designing, fabricating, and optimizing 3D microtumor platforms using bioprinting and cleanroom-based microfabrication techniques.
- Biomechanical & Biological Characterization: Measuring structural, mechanical, and molecular properties within the tumor microenvironment (TME) and conducting functional immunological assessments.
- Infrastructure & Workflow Development: Playing a central role in setting up lab infrastructure, experimental toolkits, and standardized procedures for tumor-on-chip systems.
- Translation & Dissemination: Translating platform outcomes toward clinical applications, contributing to intellectual property rights, collaborating with clinical research partners, publishing in high-impact journals, and presenting findings at international conferences.
- Mentorship & Funding: Assisting in the supervision of PhD, Master’s, and project students, with opportunities to contribute to external grant applications.
