Postdoctoral Researcher – Molecular Virology: The Molecular Vaccinology and Vaccine Discovery (MVVD) group at the Rega Institute, KU Leuven, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher to lead innovative research focused on yellow fever and related orthoflaviviruses. The candidate will engage in cutting-edge research that connects viral pathogenesis and host immunity to the development of novel vaccine strategies.

Job Description:

ResponsibilityDescription
Research OwnershipDesign and coordinate in vitro and in vivo studies on host-pathogen interactions.
Methodology DevelopmentValidate advanced methodologies for antibody characterization and implement yeast-surface display for mapping antibody-antigen interactions.
Animal ModelsDevelop and characterize transgenic and knockout mouse and hamster models essential for studying viral pathogenesis.
MentorshipSupervise Master’s and PhD students and guide technicians in daily operations.
Data AnalysisEnsure rigorous data analysis and timely reporting of project milestones.
CollaborationActively participate in grant writing, scientific presentations, and collaborative initiatives to enhance the program’s impact.
