Postdoctoral Researcher Position at IIMCB: The International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB) is currently seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the newly created Laboratory of Cellular Proteostasis. The successful candidate will contribute to the project “Nuclear protein quality control in neurodegeneration,” focusing on understanding mammalian nuclear protein quality control and its relevance in human diseases.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Hold a PhD degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine or equivalent field. Candidates with degrees in other fields including Engineering, Computer science, Physics will also be considered if they have relevant experience.
  • Fulfill the requirements of the competition as outlined in the provided link (section 2.1.1)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • High motivation and proactive and collaborative attitude

Desirable Experience: Previous experience in one or more methods including CRISPR/Cas9-based high-throughput screening, cell culture, confocal microscopy, and flow cytometry.

Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for conducting a CRISPR/Cas9-based high-throughput screen to identify novel factors and pathways crucial for protein quality control maintenance and ubiquitin-proteasome system in the mammalian nucleus. The role involves utilizing cell culture methods, biochemical and molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, and confocal microscopy. Responsibilities include planning and executing experiments, documenting research in electronic lab notebooks, data analysis, and regular reporting of results.
