Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will work with limited supervision to carry out both individual and collaborative research projects relevant to the overall needs of the research programme. You will engage in key experiments aimed at harnessing the diversity of immune modules across the tree of life to upgrade the plant immune system, primarily focusing on the genetic platform Nicotiana benthamiana. The role includes:
- Evolutionary and molecular dissection of diverse immune modules
- Synthetic biology approaches to engineer novel immune mechanisms in plants
- Gaining experience with a wide range of plant pathogenic microbes
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, executing, and modifying experiments to meet project objectives
- Preparing results, reports, and manuscripts for publication
- Disseminating research findings through presentations
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Institute on original research
- Ensuring compliance with scientific integrity and local policies
- Contributing to group management, training visitors, and promoting scientific excellence
