Postdoctoral Researcher – Stem Cell: The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC), based in Barcelona, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Regulation of Blood Stem Cell Identity group, led by Dr. Vincenzo Calvanese. The project, FUN-HSC, is funded by the European Research Council and focuses on tackling functional maturation for transplantable hematopoietic stem cell generation. The successful candidate will contribute to understanding human hematopoietic stem cell development and harnessing their therapeutic potential through research in epigenetics, gene regulation, and stem cell biology.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biomedicine or related discipline.
  • Strong background in molecular, cell, and developmental biology and hematopoiesis.
  • Experience in human tissue and pluripotent stem cell handling, multi-omics analysis, and genetic screening.
  • Research project management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Independent, proactive, and committed to research excellence.

Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Human tissue processing and pluripotent stem cell culture.
  • Experience with organoids biology.
  • Knowledge of mouse models for human xenotransplantation.
  • Expertise in genomics and epigenomics at bulk and single-cell levels.
  • Proficiency in bioinformatic analysis of genomics data.
