Job description: The Lindert Lab at UCLA is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Scholar in the field of computational biochemistry. The Lindert Lab computationally studies protein structure and dynamics, as well as designs proteins and small molecule drugs. The Postdoctoral Scholar will apply and develop deep learning and physics-based methods of data-guided protein structure determination, as well as perform protein design, structure-based drug discovery, and protein dynamics simulations. Job responsibilities include developing and training data-guided deep learning protein structure prediction networks, designing and executing computational experiments in protein design, protein dynamics and drug discovery, and training graduate students and undergrads. The Postdoctoral Scholar will be expected to have strong mentoring skills, maintain high-quality documentation, communicate clearly, keep track of multiple projects simultaneously, and be comfortable troubleshooting in the lab.
Job qualifications: Highly desired technical skills for this role include experience in two or more of the following areas: deep learning structure prediction model development, protein design, structure-based drug discovery, molecular dynamics, free energy methods. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working, and have strong communication skills. The ability to work with and train others is essential. Proficiency to work simultaneously on multiple projects (including internal and external collaborations) and strong willingness to learn additional research skills are expected. A strong publication record commensurate with career stage will also be an advantage.
Requirements: A PhD in any relevant biosciences area.
Application deadline: Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Apply by August 15 for full consideration.
Job start date: September 1, 2026 (or later).
