Postdoctoral Scholar: Chemical and Materials Engineering: The University of Nevada, Reno’s Chemical and Materials Engineering (CME) Department is seeking a dedicated and innovative researcher for a postdoctoral position focusing on interfacial hydrodynamic system development, aimed at tackling water challenges through interfacial science and microdevice manufacturing.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Required:
  • Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Completion of a doctoral degree within the five years preceding the appointment.
  • No prior positions in the professional ranks.
  • Preferred:
  • Strong background in interfacial science, thin film engineering, and characterization techniques.
  • Experience with SEM, FIB, EDS, RAMAN, LC-MS/MS, and FTIR.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with a track record of publications.
  • Strong motivation for discovery-based scientific research.

Job Description:
The selected candidate will combine interfacial science with microdevice manufacturing research to find solutions for water contamination and real-time detection challenges. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative research, potentially leading to valuable technology and industry collaborations. The initial part-time position could convert to full-time based on experience and funding.
