Study Area: The scholarship is focused on Electrochemistry and advanced functional materials with applications in heterogeneous catalysis, energy conversion, and electrochemistry.

Scholarship Description: The Department of Interface Science at the Fritz Haber Institute is looking for a postdoctoral scholar to resolve the structure of the electrode-electrolyte interface under operando conditions. The successful candidate will lead spectroscopy and diffraction experiments in synchrotron facilities and gain fundamental insights that will be applied to more practical systems. The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of extending it up to three years.

Eligibility: Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Physical Chemistry, and prior experience in Electrochemistry. They must also have experience in performing complex experiments independently, a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, excellent English skills, and experience in synchrotron beamtimes including Surface X-Ray Diffraction and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. Experience with scripting and analysis is a plus.
