Scholarship Description: The Wolf B. Frommer research group is offering a postdoctoral position as part of the ERC Synergy-funded Sympore project. The project aims to unravel the composition, structure, dynamics, function, and regulation of plasmodesmata (PD), which are enigmatic plant cell-cell connections. The successful candidate will work in the SYMPORE team of Wolf B. Frommer lab, focusing on characterizing PD activities in signaling and transport. The team will employ new assay systems to characterize the trafficking of substrates through PD and the role of PD components for transport. The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary and international environment, embedded in an experienced team of four research groups from three different institutions. The position is full-time with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in North Rhine Westphalia state, Germany (TV-L E 13, 100 %). The contract is limited to the period necessary to gain further scientific expertise.
