Postdoctoral Scientists in Viromics: The Chao’s Viromics Laboratory at the Institute for Advanced Study, Shenzhen University, is seeking 3 Postdoctoral Scientists to conduct cutting-edge research in viromics. The laboratory focuses on deep-sea hydrothermal ecosystems, coastal wetlands, and freshwater lakes, investigating virus-driven carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur cycles, as well as the ecological evolution and biological research of Mirusvirus and Nucleocytoviricota (Giant Virus). Eligibility/Qualification:
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Background in bioinformatics, metagenomics, viromics, second/third-generation sequencing analysis, or other omics or evolutionary analysis.
- Experience in command-line and R language coding preferred; candidates who can independently write code are prioritized.
- Experimental backgrounds in microbial molecular ecology, molecular biology, microbial/viral molecular genetic manipulation, and sequencing library preparation are desirable.
- Ability to learn and master new knowledge and technologies, with a strong interest in the research direction of the laboratory.
- Independence and adaptability to collaborative environments.
- Strong English reading and writing skills.
Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Scientist, you will:
- Conduct research in viromics, focusing on deep-sea hydrothermal ecosystems, coastal wetlands, and freshwater lakes.
