Project Scientist Position at IACS: Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the post of Project Scientist-I/II/III (One Post) under the umbrella of the DST-funded Technical Research Centre (TRC) for Molecules and Materials at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata.

Research Area: (i) Quantum Materials, (ii) Materials for Energy and Environment, (iii) Polymers, Disordered, Soft, and Nanobio Materials for Devices, Diagnostics, Therapeutics, and (iv) Molecules: Understanding, making and exploring commercial viability.

Eligibility/Qualification:
Qualifications, Experience, Age Limit, Project Scientist Level to be Offered, Pay, Selection, and other terms will be as per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10th July 2020 (Annexed).
Desirable: Excellent past academic achievement, good publication record, and a minimum of eight (8) years of total research experience including Ph.D. and postdoctoral (minimum 2 years) studies are desirable. The TRC at IACS pursues translational research in diverse areas of science and technology including (i) Quantum Materials, (ii) Materials for Energy and Environment, (iii) Polymers, Disordered, Soft, and Nanobio Materials for Devices, Diagnostics, Therapeutics, and (iv) Molecules: Understanding, making and exploring commercial viability.
Candidates with research experience in one or more of these research areas (to be evident from publication records) and experience preparing academic reports/presentations, and keeping academic repositories will be given preference.
Job Description:
Tenure: Initially till March 31, 2024. Upon satisfactory performance and a positive recommendation from a project monitoring committee, and subject to the availability of funds and requirement of the Project, the tenure may be extended on a yearly renewal basis.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview in hybrid mode, scheduled on June 03, 2023, at IACS Kolkata. During the interview, candidates may be asked to make a presentation (duration ~ 10 min) on the highlight of their past research activity, especially in applied research areas. No TA/ DA will be provided for appearing in the interview. Online interviews may be allowed for candidates staying abroad. However explicit requests must be made for the consideration of the competent authority.
The candidate(s) selected will be required to join the post as soon as the formalities of his/her appointment are completed. The position is purely temporary and the candidate will not have any right to claim (explicitly or implicitly) any permanent post in the Institute.
