IIT Kanpur, India invites applications for Senior Project Scientist Position at IIT from eligible and interested candidates
About- The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a Project Scientist to work on a randomized controlled phase II trial of a Brain Computer Interface based hand exoskeleton for neurorehabilitation in stroke patients. The project is funded by the ICMR and will be conducted in New Delhi, Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation. The position requires experience in signal recording, processing, and analysis for EEG or EEG signals for neuroscience, cognitive science, and bio-robotics applications. The ideal candidate should have an M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science, mechanical/mechanical, bioelectronics, biomedical/robotics engineering, or equivalent qualifications with PhD and relevant experience. Eligibility/Qualification–
Minimum Qualification:
Ph.D.* + 1 year relevant experience
Or
Postgraduate + 4 years relevant experience
Desirable Qualifications and Expertise:
The candidate should have one or more of the following:
- Ph.D. in Physics with at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience
- Experience in atomic magnetometry, quantum sensing, atomic physics, spectroscopy
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, signal processing, and data acquisition systems
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for instrumentation and automation

Senior Project Scientist
Applications are invited for a temporary and contractual post of Senior Project Scientist under the project entitled: “Field-deployable quantum-enhanced sensors on integrated hybrid platform” funded by the National Quantum Mission (NQM) at IIT Kanpur.
Salary Range: Rs. 38,800–3,200–96,400/- per month (based on qualification and experience)
Term of Appointment: The appointment is purely temporary and contractual, for three years, extendable based on performance and project requirements.
Number of Positions: One (01)
